There is a Concert on the Square on Saturday night at 7pm. There is also the 24th Annual Atlanta Caribbean Carnival Mas and Music at Sweet Auburn Av. Brew at the Zoo at Zoo Atlanta is this Saturday. At Stone Mountain Park is the Lasershow Spectacular in Mountainvision.

What else is going on this week/weekend? Anyone want to share?

On the racing calendar this weekend on Saturday, May 26, are the MamaBear 5K in Atlanta, the Sutallee Trace Trail Challenge 4.5 mile and 10 mile Trail Run, Boling Park in Canton, the 4th Annual Run for the Heroes/Run Across Georgia from Columbus to Savannah, the Memorial Day 5K in McDonough, and the All American 5K in Peachtree City. Wednesday Night Run 5-16-2012

Hello ORC,

The festival season is upon us and there are some cool events to go to this weekend. This weekend is Kirkwood's Spring Fling. Sunday is Atlanta Streets Alive. They have moved the venue from downtown Atlanta and are not closing streets along Highland Ave. This should be better than years past just because of the location change. And if you are interested, Friday is Bike To Work Day. Decatur Bikes is having an energizer station to help you on your way. This Saturday is also the Concerts on the Square series. Bazaar Bizarro is at Gaia Gardens. There is the Sweet Auburn Music fest. At Historic Fourth Ward Park is the Cans Film Festival. Tunes from the Tombs is at Historic Oakland Cemetery.

What else is going on this week and weekend?

For your local racing this weekend, starting on Thursday, May 18, is the Dixie200 Relay in Marietta. On Saturday, May 19, are the 2012 Brookhaven Bolt 5K and the Kirkwood Spring Fling 5K just to mention some local runs. Check out the Kirkwood Spring Fling after the race. It's always a great little neighborhood event. For trail racing, there is the Dirty Spokes Mt Tabor 8.0/4.0 Mile Trail Running Race in Hiram. Out in Mountain City is the Warrior Dash Mud Run. I know there was an extra entry form floating around and offered on the ORC list. On Sunday, May 20, is The Freight Train 5K in Kennesaw.

On Wednesday night you will be running route 13. After looping through Kirkwood, the route goes up the hard flat of Oakview and hits the hills of Spence/McDonough. The link to the route is at the bottom of this e-mail. After the run it's off to Mojo's Pizza for food, drinks and trivia.

Thanks for making the Oakhurst Running Club one of the friendliest running club in Atlanta.

Wednesday Night Run 5-2-2012

Hello ORC,

I am slacking and work is really busy. Glad I remembered to send this email off before the run and before I left town. Yes, it is May and May is National Bike Month. I heard the ORC was riding more bikes. Next is swimming and then duathlons and triathlons. It's also Cinco De Mayo weekend. This weekend is the Brownwood Bike Rally supporting the East Atlanta Kids Club. In Avondale Estates is the Art-B-Que. At Centennial Olympic Park is Fiesta Atlanta. Within Decatur is the Decatur Garden Tour. This weekend is the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition's Beltline Bike Tour. There is probably more going on this weekend that I have missed so feel free to chip in.

What else is going on this week/weekend? Want to share?

On Sunday is the Fiesta Atlanta 5K at Centennial Olympic Park and the Harris Jacobs Dream Run 4 Mile & 2K in Dunwoody.

This Wednesday you will be running route 8, the East Lake Golf Course run. The link to the route is at the bottom of this e- mail. After getting out of the hill on Garland, the route runs downhill until climbing Oakview Rd. Then the route continues to climb Howard to a quick downhill on College. Then it's the climb on Wisteria, and a finishing uphill at the shop. After the run, it's off to Mojo's Pizza for food, drinks and trivia.

Enjoy your run Wednesday night. Thanks for making the Oakhurst Running Club one of the friendliest running club in Atlanta.
