Wednesday Night Run 3-6-2013

Hello ORC,

It’s some crazy weather out there. From the cold temps of this weekend to the warm temps of today. The Yale Women's Slavic Chorus is coming to Decatur this weekend. The Indigo Girls are having a benefit concert for The Friends School of Atlanta. If you want to ride a bike, SoPo’s Broken Hearts bicycle scavenger hunt is this weekend. It is the last one ever. The inaugural Big Red Ball is at the Old Courthouse. What else is going on this week/weekend?

By the way, after a lot of thinking, I have come to the decision that I am going to stop sending out these emails at the end of March. Life’s funny in that I haven’t ran with y’all in a long time. You have allowed me to keep sending these emails out and be an absent part of the group. Still I have been away too long. I look forward to running with you again in the future. And the countdown begins, 3 more emails!

Here are some local races this weekend. On Saturday, March 9, are the Silver Comet 10K in Mableton, the Bolt for PCOS at Georgia Tech, the Shallowford Scot Trot 5K Run/Mile Walk, and the Finish Lion 5K in Atlanta. On Sunday, March 10, are the 5K in Paradise in Kennesaw and the 9th Annual Shamrock 'N Roll Road Race 5K / 10K / Tot Trot at Atlantic Station.

This Wednesday you will be running the Winter route, route 12. A bulk of it is along DeKalb Av and W Howard on the PATH.  But there are nice rolling hills getting there through MAK and Winnona.  The link to the route is at the bottom of this e-mail. After the run it's off to Mojo's Pizza for food, drinks and trivia.

Enjoy your run Wednesday night.  Thanks for making the Oakhurst Running Club one of the friendliest running club in Atlanta.
