Hello ORC,
Happy New Year! Did anyone miss last week’s email? It was a busy end of the year and by the time I realized it; it was already 7pm on Wednesday night. And if you sent an email to the ORC Gmail account, I really have to do a better job on checking that email. So hopefully you will see my weekly emails for another 51 weeks, give or take a week or so for my slackness. Sorry.
What is going on this week/weekend? There is Seussical the Musical. Winter Wonderland continues at the Fernbank. Also the Garden Lights, Holiday Lights at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. You can tour the Sweet Auburn Market on Saturday. What else is going on this week and weekend?
Here's some local races to start the first weekend of 2013. On Friday, January 4, is the Twilight Stroll by the Granite Bowl 5K/10.1K in Elberton. On Saturday, January 5, are the 7th Annual Red Nose Half Marathon in Columbus and the Wonderful Days of Winter 5K in Marietta.
Tonight, Wednesday, you will be running route 13. After looping through Kirkwood, the route goes up the hard flat of Oakview and hits the hills of Spence/McDonough. The link to the route is at the bottom of this e-mail. After the run it's off to Mojo's Pizza for food, drinks and trivia.
It's a night run so if you have not already, wear your reflective vests/shirts, bright colors, and flashing lights.
Thanks for making the Oakhurst Running Club one of the friendliest running club in Atlanta.
Corny
