Hello ORC,
Heading into the first weekend of August, the year is quickly moving along. The Olympics are on now. I am looking forward to the marathon. Outside of the Olympics, the Girl Scouts are putting on a Global Village School Cultural Event at the Decatur Library this Saturday. At the Oakhurst Community Gardens is a class on organic pest control solutions. Cozee Teas presents Impromptu Featuring Ja'Naan on Sunday. What else is going on this week/weekend? Anyone want to share?
A sample of local races this weekend on Saturday August 4. In Warner Robins is the 65th Air Force Anniversary 5K and Half Marathon. In Cartersville is the Dirty Spokes Red Top Mountain State Park 15K/5K Trail Race. Closer to Atlanta are the Atlanta Track Club's Atlanta's Finest 5K, and the geneRACEtion 10K and 2K.
This Wednesday you will be running route 6. There are the challenging hill of Delano, the grind up Rogers, and of course climbing up McClendon. The link to the route is at the bottom of this e-mail. After the run it's off to Mojo's Pizza for food, drinks and trivia.
Enjoy your run Wednesday night. Thanks for making the Oakhurst Running Club one of the friendliest running club in Atlanta.
