Hello ORC,
Here's a couple of local events. Decatur is having their Fall electronics recycling day this Saturday. The Madison Av Soapbox Derby is also this Saturday. Blue Sky and Concerts on the Square continue. There is the Kirkwood Wine Stroll. Its SkaterAid weekend. The Bluegrass and BBQ Fall Festival is at Emory Presbyterian Church. On Sunday is the Ansley Atlanta Fall Festival. In Summerhill is the Summerhill Fall festival, bring your own big wheel.
What else is going on this week and weekend?
Here's some local races this Saturday, September 29. For multi-sport athletes there is the Heels and Wheels for Megan's House Duathlon Challenge in Albany. For road races there are the R4G 5K and 10K in Tucker, the 2nd Annual 5K Run/Walk for Literacy in Decatur, and the Silver Lake Stampede 5K in Atlanta. There are more across the metro Atlanta area so you have your choice.
On Wednesday night you will be running route 13. After looping through Kirkwood, the route goes up the hard flat of Oakview and hits the hills of Spence/McDonough. The link to the route is at the bottom of this e-mail. After the run it's off to Mojo's Pizza for food, drinks and trivia.
Also, it has been getting dark earlier and for the majority of the run so if you have not already, wear your reflective vests/shirts, bright colors, and flashing lights.
Thanks for making the Oakhurst Running Club one of the friendliest running club in Atlanta.
Corny
