Hello ORC,
Happy Thanksgiving to all. You may be running Wednesday night to build up an appetite for Thursday or you may be taking a break to get ready for the Thanksgiving day half marathon. While others may be running/resting to get ready for Black Friday. With Black Friday there is also Small Business Saturday. November is National Running Safety Month, just in time for the night runs that come with Winter. The Indie Craft Experience is having a pop-up shop at Criminal Records. Ismprov is at the Push Push Theater. Dad’s Garage has the improv version of the classis A Christmas Carol with Invasion: Christmas Carol. The SBL has the Atlanta Street Art Tour on bike.
What else is going on this week/weekend? Anyone want to share?
There are not many races this weekend with Thanksgiving this week. The big one of course will be the ATC Atlanta Half Marathon. You can also make your way out to Cumming for a couple of races, the 2nd Annual Five Star Turkey Trot 5K and the Tryptophan Half Marathon, on Thursday. And out to Carrollton for their Run for Fun 5K or to Oakwood for their 17th Annual Trinity Trot 5K.
This Wednesday you will be running route 6. There are the challenging hill of Delano, the grind up Rogers, and of course climbing up McClendon. The link to the route is at the bottom of this e-mail. It the route is not well lit and is becoming a hazard, let me know and we can shelve this route till there is more light during the run. After the run it's off to Mojo's Pizza for food, drinks and trivia.
Safety note, as it is dark during the run, please wear your reflective vests/shirts/jackets, bright colors, and flashing lights.
Enjoy your run Wednesday night. Thanks for making the Oakhurst Running Club one of the friendliest running club in Atlanta.
Corny
