Happy Labor Day weekend. Fun times as school begins for most. The Decatur Book Fest is this weekend. The Decatur Library is also having a book sale. The Birding Club of Avondale Estates is meeting this Saturday at the Avondale Community Club. What else is going on this weekend?
For local races this weekend on Saturday, September 1, there is the Celebrate Freedom 5K and 10K in Marietta, The ATL 20K Relay and 10K in Atlanta, and the Legal Run Around 5K in Atlanta, On Sunday, September 2, is the Callaway Gardens 5K Run in Pine Mountain. On Labor Day, Monday, September 3, are the Action Dash 5K Run/Walk & Fun Run in Atlanta, the Big Peach Sizzler 10K in Chamblee, the Avondale Estates Labor Day 5K & Mile in Avondale Estates, and the Y to Y Labor Day 10K in Marietta.
This Wednesday, you will be running route 11, the Decatur Cemetery run. There are a lot of turns on this route. Hope it's laid out enough on the map for you to follow. If not, keep an eye out for the person in front of you. The link to the route is at the bottom of this e-mail. After the run it's off to Mojo's Pizza for food, drinks and trivia.
